How the QR code ticket and universal QR code work
We offer two ways to manage access to digital content and the museum’s audio guide: the QR code ticket (personalized) and the universal QR code.
Both are designed to optimize the visitor experience and simplify the staff’s tasks.
1. QR Code Ticket (Personalized)
The QR code ticket is a unique code generated for each visitor at the time of ticket purchase.
Here’s how it works:
- QR Code Generation: The staff generates a QR code via a dedicated link (with login credentials) accessible from a tablet, smartphone, or PC. Just press the “Next” button to create a new QR code.
- Usage: The visitor scans the QR code with their device’s camera. This redirects them directly to the museum’s itinerary.
- Time Validity: The QR code ticket is valid for 24 hours. After this period, access to digital content is disabled.
- Customization: The content can be set to start from specific points along the itinerary, catering to the museum’s operational needs (e.g., starting from the main point of interest for visitors who have already entered).
2. Universal QR Code
The universal QR code is a static code that can be used by all visitors, ideal for simplifying access and managing high visitor flows. Here are the details:
- Generation and placement: The universal QR code is created once and can be printed and placed at the ticket office, museum entrance, or other strategic locations.
- Programmable Expiry: To prevent misuse (such as sharing the code), the universal QR code has a predefined expiry that can be set based on needs (e.g., weekly or monthly). Once expired, the code becomes invalid and is replaced by a new one.
- Access to Content: By scanning the QR code, visitors gain access to the museum’s digital content for a period of 24 hours. The itinerary can also be customized to start from specific points.
- Operational Flexibility: This system eliminates the need to generate individual codes, significantly simplifying the ticketing process.
Implementation tips
When to choose the QR Code Ticket and when to choose the Universal QR Code
QR Code Ticket:
- Ideal for museums with moderate visitor flows and high control needs.
- Use an internet-connected device (tablet or smartphone) to generate codes in real time.
Universal QR Code:
- Recommended for museums with high visitor flows.
- Place the QR code at the ticket office or in visible and secure areas to avoid misuse.
- Set the frequency of code updates based on visitor flow and season.
Both solutions are designed to improve the visitor experience while ensuring flexibility and security. To choose the option best suited to your needs, consider visitor volume, available resources, and the level of control desired.
